50 LBS Later

After almost one year exactly I have finally met my weight-loss goal of 50 lbs (technically the after photo I had only lost 45 lbs but I pretty much look the same 5 lbs later). The next goal is to lose 10 more lbs by Christmas. Here's to hopin' oh and more self control!
2011 Fergy Family pics vs 2012 Fergy Family Pics

To celebrate my weight goal I invited the family all out to a new cupcake shop I just heard about called one sweet slice. They had just been on Cupcake Wars and won and I can see why they were DELICIOUS! Even all my hard to please kiddos approved.
This cupcake shop even had a cute kids play area  which all thoroughly enjoyed until Cami fell and got a fat lip them we called it time to go.
This was a cute little celebration, but I think next time I want to celebrate a milestone I will do it without all the crazy kids in tow!

Phoebe's First Day 2012

Phoebe started back at Preschool and knowing what preschool even was this year she was THRILLED to start! This year she dressed herself with no fight & in fact was even game for what I think was possibly one of her cutest photo-shoots ever (she came up with all her own poses)! Her first day this year was an ice cream social day which is why her name tag is in the shape of an ice cream cone.
After her front door poses we still had a few more minutes o wait she she went and began t pose with all her siblings, Cami excluded, because she was having none of it!
When we got to the front door of her class she was a bit upset I was still trying to take pics as class members who remembered her from the year before were yelling. "Hi, Phoebe" she just wanted to go in all by herself because this year she, "is all grown up."
I am trilled that she could have another year with Mrs. Thompson, whom Phoebe just adores!

Fergy Labor Eve

Every Labor Day eve the Fergy Clan always gathers together for a good ole back yard camp out. This year, however, the camp-out part was scrapped, but we stilled gathered and had a yumm-o dinner  dessert. We had kinds grumpy kiddos so I didn't get picks of the dinner, but it was dutch oven and it was great! After dinner the kids and Alan played football which you can see they LOVED, then we moved on to what I call the main event...the smores bar.
My SIL Charisse suggested that this year we make a smores bar since seeing a million ideas for them all over Pinterest. This idea was DELICIOUS and definitively needs to be a new tradition. There was about 20 + combos of  smores possible in our bar and I loved every one of them. The kids didn't actually love smores but they did like roasting the mallows and eating the chocolate.
After dessert we hung around for a bit longer, but the kiddos were just about cooked themselves so we called it a night. This is celebration is always one of my favorite I look forward to every year and now with a smores bar ta'boot I will anticipate it just a little bit more in the years to come!

I Love To See The Temple

We started off Sept 1st with a fun ole Fergy trip to the Brigham City Temple open House. We met at one site then took a bus up to the temple, which the kiddos LOVED & still talk about!  The morning of our temple visit as rain filled and cooler but I am not sure if it as fortunate or not, since e ere then all WAY over dressed for the temp, the sun came out. The temple it's self was really gorgeous and in fact might have been one of my very favorites. Brigham City itself is known for its peaches and is called the peach city where every year they have peach days so throughout the who temple there are very pretty peach blossom details.
We also learned all the woodwork was hand card and there as wood EVERYWHERE, the carpet was brought in as all one length and then hand trimmed down to have peach blossom shapes in it, and this was one of the first if the not first to have smoky glass chandeliers instead of clear which I LOVED because it gave them an iridescent gold sparkle.
After the open house everyone was melting in the heat and warm clothes so get met up for some yummy refreshing ice cream! Even Sophie and mommy got in of the fattening messy ice creamy goodness. On a side note: I love the fact that Cami continued to lick her cone in spit of the fact that her ice cream is actually on the table in front of her and she is oblivious if it.
Temple open houses are always an adventure with kids, but I love that they are open to ALL then and even my kiddos in all heir irreverent glory can actually get to go in them and enjoy their beauty on the inside too and not just on the outside like we normally do.

2 Dates with Daddy & 1 with Mommy

Phoebe has been waiting what seems like forever for her "daddy date" which was to go to the dinosaur museum down at Thanksgiving Point. She loved seeing all of the dinosaurs and explaining that the dino bones are called fossils to Daddy. We saw tons of seashell fossils as well as some large fish; when Daddy asked her how big this one was, she thought about it and ultimately answered eleven-teen (alex tribeck from SNL would be proud). The erosion table was pretty busy, but Phoebe was able to secure a bunch of dinosaurs and trees to play with. At the computer, she was able to color her very own dinosaur. As you come to the end, they have the paleantologist area where she spent another half hour just digging around and brushing clean the fossils. As we left, she decided that this was the "best Daddy date EVER."
Cami and Josh shared their "daddy date" to Thanksgiving Point for the dinosaur museum. They were fascinated by all of the dinosaurs - running from fossil to fossil to point out and make sure Daddy didn't miss any of them. Somehow Cami got ahead of Josh and so by the time he got to the next dino, Cami was off and running to the next one . . . which resulted in a chaotic choreography that resembled "herding cats." Their favorite exhibits were the insects frozen in amber and the megalodon (where Cami demonstrated her gymnastic bars routine). Both of them loved the fossil digging pit and spent forever helping each other uncover the next great paleontology discovery.
Like last year, right before Phoebe started preschool I took her out on a Mommy date to pick out a couple new outfits and enjoy an extra special ice cream treat. She definitely remembered this tradition from last year and kept asking when this date was going to be and when we were finally on the date she didn't care much about picking out clothes she was just so excited to get the ice cream, where once again her creation was a nutritionist's nightmare and my was  fruity-licious! Next year I might have to switch things up and eat first then shop second so she actually enjoys picking out her outfit and doesn't just want to buy the first item we look at.
