Sohpie's First Haircut

Our littlest blond beauty was beginning to turn into a mini version of Tangled in multiple ways so it was time to receive her very first hair cut. I chose to give it to her since I just did it on the fly.
I took off about 3-4 inches and I think she looks absolutely adorable with her new shorter style.
She was very happy the whole time having it and if you ask her she always replies that she likes her new short hair.

Reading is Fun Fair

In June we heard about a couple of free fun activities that were being put on, one was a free fishing day and the other was the sidewalk chalk and reading festival. We unfortunately missed the free fishing day which broke poor Phoebes heart, but we made it up to her by going to the chalk and Reading fair downtown. We saw TONS of really talented people and the kiddos LOVED all the bright drawings of familiar shows and characters.
After the drawing we walked over to the reading fair. They had tons of booths to visit and load up on all the free stuff. It was quiet crowded, but we took our dose of extra patience and tried to visited almost all the booths and completed the scavenger hunt of booths they had to collect all the free crap possible.
The kiddos loved all the booty they left with these toy Story characters. I am not sure I could drag Cory to this again, especially since we had one of the most expensive parking tickets ever, upon returning to our van (it was a stupid ticket and we even had to stop 2 other people from doing what we got a ticket for when we left). I am sure we have 4 kids who had a blast & would jump at the chance to return to it.

Misc May Hapennings

We started the first day of May off looking like we lived in a winter wonderland . . . so not cool in May!
Phoebe, after having to give up most of her stuffed animals for 4 months went a little on overload upon returning and insisted on sleeping with over half of them every night. since then (and the fact it took up most of her sleeping space) we have implemented a three animal at a time rule.
We have been having many Family Home Evenings on lying and so to start my lesson I told the kiddos  that we had a chocolaty treat to eat and so they would know the sadness of being lied to.  I instead pulled out some raw veggies, however the whole thing backfired on me when they were stilled excited about them and started to eat them. The rest of lesson was a bit lost on them after that. My kids are suck freaks!
Every Thursday we have started to go to the library to get books. On one particular week we found the book Phoebe and the Digger, a title I couldn't pass up since it was Phoebe, and digger a favorite of Joshes and Sophie's. Unfortunately, the book turned out to be real "special," and one I will likely never buy since I didn't care to ever re read it.
When the sun finally did come out in May we had to break down and buy a lawn mower and before I could even mow I had to pull 39 stakes out of our front yard, this is mainly just a reminder for me. When we moved in this house it seemed on nearly a daily bases we had some person or another planting stakes in our front yard, I was excited to pull all these out and have a clean yard finally! Since this day we have started the tradition of Friday Yard Care Day, which I have come to love and so have the kiddos because it is a time they can ride bikes, color on the driveway, run in the sprinklers and then lay out on the driveway and dry off.
For our May date night Cory and I finally got to go to another play at Desert Start Play house. We saw Les Miserables -or- a lot Less Miserable, which was one of the funniest ones I've seen! This was also the first date Cory and I got to go one since came back to Utah in mid April. Man, I really needed a date out!!!
On the very last day in May our wee Fergy family had our first day of summer vacation since Phoebe had just graduated Preschool the day before.  To celebrate the day we did our Friday Yard Day and played, played, played out in the sun all morning!
It was also this day that Phoebe self-appointed herself the chore of bring the cans back in the garage from the curb after pick-up, she still gets excited every week to do this chore.
Later in the evening our new primary had a little party for the kiddos at the neighborhood park and when I came to check on Phoebe I found her surrounded by 8 other boys. I know she has always been a popular girl but this sight frighted Cory a bit just thinking of all the boys he will be having to fight off in the future.
May was a busy month just settling more into our new home and yet still having school way in the other part of town by our old home. I am glad not to be commuting that distance 3 times a week anymore, but will also miss having an excuse to get over to see old friends so much.

She Graduated!

In the very end of May our wee Phoebe finally became a Preschool graduate! To celebrate, her class put on a little program for the parents where they all had a line to memorize and deliver and sing several songs. Here are two of Phoebe's favorite songs, the ones she has sang over and over to me.
Phoebe was so proud to show everyone her preschool "diploma."
I have been excited all year to give this "teacher gift" ever since I found this cool trowel and I know her teacher loves to garden.
Phoebe was thrilled to be done with school, but immediately asked while in the car if we can still comeback and visit Mrs Thompson (or Thompson Monson as Phoebe called her) because she was really going to miss her.
This year for graduation Phoebe was SPOILED with tons-o-gifts. Grandma+pa Fergy got her a princess balloon and princess whiteboard activity book. Grandma+pa Potts got her the outfit she is wearing, some money to buy the family treats to celebrate and a fashion maker set. We got her the princess castle and dolls (a free leftover from my Fisher Price house party, Thank You Fisher Price!)
For the treat money Grandma+pa sent to celebrate with we went to a new ice cream place called sub zero. This place make the ice-cream right in front of  you with liquid nitrogen. I thought it would be new and a fun experience, but really it was just expensive and not that great tasting...oh well the kiddos still liked it.
Phoebe had so much fun in her Bright Stars Preschool with Mrs Thompson for 2 years. Thanks to everyone for helping me out by either babysitting so I could chaperon, picking her up for me, or taking the baby monitors while I ran to get her in the afternoon. It really did take a village for her to be in attendance some days so thanks a ton to all of you! We are going to truly miss Mrs. Thompson and I just hope the twins & Sophie have a teacher as cute and as loving as she was to Phoebs.

And On That Farm...

The last week before Phoebe graduated her preschool her whole grade went on a field trip to wheeler farm. I really wanted to chaperon this trip, but unfortunately I had no sitter for the 3 younger so instead I just took the other 3 to the farm and we had lunch and walked around on our own. The twins got really excited to feed the ducks at the farm and normally the ducks are usually over fed and care nothing about our bread, but that was not the case that day; the twins got a bit nervous because every duck and goose within 500 sq feet came charging and fighting over their bread bits.
The farm isn't that big, so we spent most of the time with in the same vicinity of Phoebe's class which was nice so I could run over and snap a cute class pic when they lined up on the wagon for one.
The farm was PACKED on the day we were there with many full school buses , but surprisingly enough  the tractor was empty when we got there, which is one of Joshes favorite spots so WOOHOO for good timing! Sophie was quite content to sit in her stroller the whole time and view the world from her cozy shaded seat.
At the farm the twiners were looking at all the animals in their farm areas and having so much fun until we came to the turkey. For some reason Cami was soo sad to see this turkey in his cage, her whole face sunk and she said the turkey was crying and that made her sad. I guess she is just more in tune with the turkey, because he seemed like a normal old turkey to me.
We saw this cute little newborn gosling on our way out and I just had to snap a lil' pic.
When we got home I noticed Phoebe had a goose feather in her hair, which is sooo fitting of my little feather loving Phoebs.
This little field trip is really cute to see with all the kids and I am glad I got to be there even if I wasn't chaperoning it.

Our First Out-of-Towner Visitors

Right after attending the baseball party at Grandma Fergy's we were super thrilled to get out first visitors in our new home Grandma & pa Potts and doggies.  The first night we just relaxed and enjoyed riding bikes and the view of things front our front porch.
The nest day we were excited to take grandma & pa Potts out to the new Scheel's and show them all the fun stuff there is to do like pose with LOTS of random figurines, ride the Ferris wheel, play in the shoot range, catch fish & eat yummy cheap ice cream in the cafe.
After Scheel's we wanted to take them to another Fergy favorite spot the West Jordan Water Conservatory Gardens. We had fun running around the grounds looking and day dreaming of future prize winning landscapes we will have one day at the new house.
It was a pretty warm day so we were pretty will spent after those trips so we came home ate and then make the cute Mother's day gifts for both grandmas. The next morning we went bright at early to drop off Grandma Fergy's love plants (tomatoes) and then gave grandma Potts her cute pot the kiddos made when she came over later that evening for dinner.
On Monday we took the our visitors to the new city creek mall where is was mostly empty AWESOME and then we played played played in the fountains, The kiddos got drenched, especially when Cami eventually fell in   one.  Good thing I had some extra clothes and bought a few more while I was there!
When tried to dry off in the sun, but eventually we just had to wander back to the car and change into some dry clothes for dinner at the Golden Corral, a Potts family favorite restaurant. Unfortunately, we will never enjoy the restaurant the same after this trip where Josh has the most horrendous bowl explosion and just had to be carried at a distance out of the restaurant to grandma and grandpa's hotel luckily close by where we could shower him down.  Oh kids they never stop being a supper fun adventure. Oh well, we still loved the time we had with Grandma+pa Potts and look forward to their visits every year!
