Happy St. Patty's Day

As you can see by the countdown, today was St. Patty's Day. We did several new things around the Fergy home to celebrate this day.

We started the morning off with a treasure hunt to the leprechauns gold. Phoebe was thrilled when she discovered that the gold was candy.  She shoved 3 of them in her mouth before we got it all picked up.

The tricky leprechauns also turned our milk and pancakes green. Side note, I must admit drinking green milk grossed me out a bit

For dinner we had a traditional Irish fare of Corned Beef and Cabbage.  My family always makes this for Paddy's Day, but it was my first time making it for Cory and it turned out great!  

We had fun celebrating and it will be even more fun next year when Phoebe will be old enough to realize some more of the holiday celebrations.

Here Comes the Sun

This week has been the sneak peek of Spring to come.  In celebration of the 50 degree weather we have taken family walks around the neighborhood every evening. 

The twins love taking walks in their new stroller.  As you can see, Cami prefers to kick her feet up on the bar and enjoy the ride.

Some of our Favorite Things: March Edition

In March we have discovered many new fun things to do in the Fergy home.  The first favorite thing is the Baby Seat & Toys; we finally pulled them out from the closet and the babies love sitting in it and playing with toys which they hold so much better than Phoebs ever did.

Here is many of Phoebs favorite things.  She found my future present stash and raided it.  This whole outfit were things she stole out of the stash.  She looked so cute & happy I didn't have the heart to take it away from her.

Our last favorite thing is bath crayons & markers.  Phoebs LOVES doodling on the side of the tub. She has me and her draw dozens of little pictures then wipes them clean and starts over. Upon receiving these markers her baths significantly lengthened towards the 2+ hour time frame.  When she finally gets out of the water it is usually because I have bribed her with a treat at lunch and her little hands and feet are complete prunes.   

Even Cory & I have gotten enjoyment out of tub crayons; these were little drawings Cory did for me.  It always make my mornings better when I get in the shower and see a new drawing from him.

Note: the fish (sardines) pictures are in reference to Cloudy with and Chance of Meatballs, when the headline reads: "NEWS: Sardines are Really Gross." Well, that's what we think of our kids too, so now we call them all Sardines.

Food Food Glorious Food

I admit have been putting off feeding the twins plain rice cereal after the horrible experience it was to try and feed Phoebe rice cereal, but guess what??? These babies love eating and gobble up every bite.  Cami even yells when you go too slow. 

Here are the after feeding pictures; you will note Josh barely has a scrap of food on him.  Cami, on the the other hand, can't seem to find her mouth 50% of the time.

Kye's Blessing

In the beginning of March was cousin Kye's blessing.  He was the last of the 5 cousins to be blessed so to commemorate all the wee ones being blessed/born so close together we dressed all 5 wee ones up in their blessing attire and took pictures.

You can tell be the expression on their faces how excited they were that we did this. All the cousins are sitting in age order beginning on the left with Jared, followed by Cami, Josh, Afton, & Kye.

A Day with Typhoon Phoebe

I take comfort in knowing that this WILD child is single and not a twin. I love this toddler, but she is a hand full and when typhoon Phoebe comes round all around better take caution.

Below is a synopsis of last Friday. Note: not all days are like this, but lately, we are going through a phase where a great many are.

Phoebe started the day by yelling to come get her at 5am. Later that morning she was playing with my pads (a favorite toy of hers) but this time she took the plastic and paper off of many of them and stuck them to the floor; I guess she thought they were stickers. A short while later she found a red pen and wrote on the hall wall, I have yet to scrub that off.   

Phoebs playing with her dress ups.  It was hard to get these pics because she hates putting on the tops. She just puts on the skirt and then pulls it up to her chest. To her that is a pretty dress. 

When my visiting teacher came Phoebe and her little boy went upstairs and played in the toilet (gross). After they left we then proceeded to take a bath where she thought it was fun to make the bathroom floor into a pool by throwing all her 6+ (don't ask me why she needs so many) washcloths out of the tub. After I cleaned up the water and took away the washcloths I left to get the twins a bottle and Phoebe decided to take a roll of toilet paper and put it in the tub. She not only unrolled it, she shredded it so I could not so easily get it out.  I had to brainstorm a way to let the water down but not the all the little pieces of toilet paper, I decided to put the strainer over the drain and then drain the water...a mess! 

Her favorite lunch: Noodles and Parmesan cheese

I then proceeded to put Phoebe down for her nap at 1:30, however she chose not to nap so from 1:30-4:00pm  she yelled to me under the door so I knew she wasn't asleep.   At 4pm I sadly gave up and let her out of her room and then went down stairs to clean up the kitchen and prepare dinner for our neighbors coming to dinner a little later. 

Yes, this is what you probably will find if you surprised me with a visit in the afternoon

As I was washing the dishes I saw Phoebe slip out of the corner of my eye.  I couldn't figure out why she fell and she was barely whimpering so I continued doing the dishes.  I then continued to hear her slip behind me 2 more times.  I turned around to see what was going on and I saw water all over the floor.  I couldn't figure how she got water all over the floor until she lifted her dress to show me she had no diaper on.  UGHH not water...pee all over the kitchen floor and now she is soaked in it from slipping in to soo many times.  I then took her up to bathe and change, when I realized she did have a diaper on at some point...great we have a mystery diaper floating somewhere around the house.  Something I need to locate before our guests come over and discover for us.  I eventually found it on a chair before they came.  When our guests came little to say I was running way behind, since disinfecting the kitchen and bathing our child. We just put Phoebes in PJs since it was close to bed, but lately she thinks we live in a nudest colony so she then proceeded just to strip in the middle of he living room when our neighbors were there.  At least they could see we did try to dress her.  

Oh child it's days like this that makes me loose my mind!

Sew Determined: February Edition

Last month I admit I didn't feel much like sewing so I put off doing any project until the las minute. This ment that I didn't have much time to do a project and I am a pretty slow sewer so it had to be something really simple, enter in the Dishtowel Dress.

It took me about 30 minutes to go from towels to dress. It would take a more proficient sewer only about 10-15 minutes, hintz the name 10 minute Dish Towel Dress. This dress can also be made adorably with bandannas.

Here is the dress modeled on my wee Phoebs.  I know it is a bit too long, but she'll grow into it.

I don't know how people always show pictures of their toddlers/children posed so cutely. This was the best picture I could get in 2 days of her wearing the dress. My other picture options are also shown: crying Phoebe or tantrum ball Phoebe.

March's sewing adventure will be the girls Easter dresses: The Sweet Dress.  Here is a sample picture of the pattern I am using; I am hoping my two little purple dresses come out as well as this picture.

4 Months Old

Can you believe it? These twiners are 4 months old already. Time flies and they are growing like crazy!  Here are their most recent stats:

Joshua David: 

15.11 lbs-  75% (for boys)

24.4 in tall

Camille Cossette: 

12.14 lbs -25% (for girls)

24.1 in tall

Look at these cute bugs together.  Josh is going to be the BIG brother for two sisters soon enough. 

Note the poll on the side of the blog, you can weigh in on when you think Josh will be heavier than his oldest sister (Phoebs- current weight 19.12 lbs with 2 shirts and a diaper).

Grandma's Cookie Party

Every year grandma Ferguson has a Valentine cookie party where all the kids decorate their own sugar cookies with frosting and candies. This year I was excite to participate because it was really the first year that Phoebe could understand what was going on and participate. Her favorite part of the party was eating the frosting and licking the sprinkle container. Oh well maybe next year she will get the whole decorating the cookie part.

As is always, the case the twins slept through most of the event.

At the end Josh woke up and licked a cookie or two.

V-Day Countdown

If you have been reading this blog you know that I have been trying to do many different fun things for Cory and I such as dates and this Countdown to Valentines Day, once again another idea from the Love, Actually blog. This was a fun way to have a little celebration every day. In fact when the 15th of Feb came I was a bit sad we had no more cards to pull.

Here are a few of the things we did as part of the countdown:

Heart attack a door in the house and write things we loved about each other in the hearts. I decorated the head board doors and Cory did our bedroom door (we still have these up, I don't want to take them down).

Make or buy a Valentine for each other with $1 or less. Cory made the heart card and I made the M&M card.

These pictures are two more things Cory did for me. The first one was, do something nice for each other. For his nice thing he finally (after only 3 1/2yrs) installed my hideaway drawer under the bathroom sink. For my nice thing, I cleaned all the fuzzballs off his UofU pants (not pictured). The second picture was a love note we had to write for each other. Cory used conversation hearts to write my love note (it looks a bit special now, because Phoebe got to it before I got it and licked off most of the messages or just plain ate the heart). My love note for Cory (not pictured) was written on the shower walls with shower crayons.

I loved doing everyday of this countdown and even Cory got into the spirit and came up with some really cute and creative gifts. We will definitely be doing this again next year!
