Summertime Fergy Fun

We live in a smaller home, especially for 4 kids and only have one car which means that we don't often get out so it is up to us to make our own creative fun, such as this box.  Several weeks ago I got some steaks in the mil I ordered and ever since then the kids have LOVED playing in the box and Styrofoam cooler they came in.  They have had their meals in these 2 boxes and have played several games of hide and seek in them too.

For outdoor fun the kiddos like sitting in our tiny sandbox I created from a storage bin, luckily I only have small kids so 2 can sit & play without any problems.

 

 We also have a fun wagon Grandma Fergy got the kids a couple years a go. We pull the kids around and around in circles in the yard, which is a little difficult seeing as w only have a 17x20 ft yard.

Right now the kids are really enjoying seeing all of our flowers beginning to bloom ans the grapevines grow with yummy grape goodness, their favorite!

 

To stay cool we sometimes splash in the sprinkler, but my kids much prefer to just strip down and enjoys some good ole fashion messy drippy Popsicles.

By far their favorite activity to do all together lately is playing in the sink. They all push chairs to the sink and stand and splash forever, my kitchen somewhat resembles a pool when they are done, which is annoying, but I try to take a deep breath & remind myself that at least it helps me maintain a constant nicely mopped floor.

I am really glad that these 3 kiddos are finally able to all play and enjoy several new actives together.

The Wind of Change in the Fergy House

Lately we have experienced some changes in the Fergy home.

1. My hair I went to get a cut and highlights and it came out much blonder with maroon highlights. I was shocked at first, but I am getting use to it and even learning to enjoy my bold change.

2. My baby twiners now believe they are too old for highchairs anymore. They look so grown up just sitting at the table in chairs.

Josh is especially cute falling asleep during lunch time which is now a more common occurrence since they refuse go to bed when we put them down and then wake up between 5:45-6am EVERY DAY!

Date Night in July

July was one of Cory's 4 months to plan our date night so he chose to take me up to Emigration Canyon for dinner at Ruth's Diner. When we got here it was getting really busy and we would either have to wait 15 minutes for an inside table or 45+ for an outside, so in spite of the PERFECT weather and temp out we opted for an inside table.  While we waited, however, we sat out front and enjoyed the outdoors. 

Our wait started to get a bit lengthy so we ordered an appetizer, deep friend dill pickles & okra. I know it sounds kinds gross, but it really wasn't. After waiting for still a long while we inquired about our wait we found out that where we were waiting was a dead zone for our table vibrator. To apologize for our then 1 hr wait they sat us out back on the patio which was lovely, they even had a live band playing.

Our dinner was great and in spite us not even finished it all we ordered dessert because they bragged about serving authentic Hawaiian custom made ice cream and I have never heard of such a thing. It turned out is was one of the BEST vanilla ice creams I have ever had with so much vanilla the color of the cream was a grayish color. The greatest part of the meal was paying so little for our 3 course meal because they had a 50% deal from citydeals.  WOOHOO for another wonderful cheap date!

Miscreants

If you follow my family at all you know that all my children are high miscreants, but none so much as my twiners. Lately Cami has been into everything.  I can't possible keep up with her trail of terror in the house.  Here are a few examples.  A couple weeks ago while I was upstairs the twiners decided to get into the pantry and empty the whole box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch all over the table and floor so it was more convent to graze upon.  One of the best parts of these incriminating photos is that I didn't take them...Phoebe got in my purse dugout my camera and took the proofing shoots.

After such a fun ruckus these two climbed up on the couch and had to take a mid morning nap.

As if that wasn't enough horribleness a couple days later as I was up stairs once again, this time printing off a dinner recipe, I came down to find this disaster. Raisin bran all over the floor and my two cute summer chargers cracked and broken.

Once again the guilty party member showed no remorse in fact they made sure to stay at the scene of the crime so show me their handy work as if they were proud of it.

 Well one thing has become painfully clear after these 2 incidents...it's time for child locks on the pantry doors.

2 Mos Already

Last Tuesday our weest one turned 2 mos old. We celebrated by taking a trip to the Drs for her check-up.

She measured in at:

10lbs 15oz (50% for girls) & 21.5in tall (10% for girls)

How quickly our cute photo shoot went from happy time to sad.

In the last month Sophie started to sleep through the night about 50% of the time. She also has just barely learned to smile which is why she has earned the nick name of wide mouth frog with her ginormous grins.  Sophie also hasn't begun to track objects yet which gives the drs some concern so next month we will be visiting a pediatric ophthalmologist.  In the week since her dr visit she has begun to track large objects at a distance, so we know she can now see, our guess is that she is just delayed in vision or far sighted. Oh well she is still 100% cute either way!

Celebrating the 4th with a Bang

Like we do every year this year for the fourth we celebrated with the whole Fergy clan.  We started the festivities about 11am with a breakfast and cold swim.  It was raining on and off so my kids weren't really eager to swim much longer than about 10 minutes.

Sophie took 6 hrs day as her day of rest starting at about noon.  Cory and Dave must of have twin telepathy, because they managed to show up dresses as twinsies.

After a full day of eating, swimming, playing frisbee, and resting we chose to all grab a dinner, go eat at Wheeler Farm and watch the fireworks. We had the place to ourselves which was nice, however, the mosquitoes.

One other nice think about this location was the fact that it was a farm so we could go look at all the animals as we waited several hours for the firework show to begin.  Josh and Phoebe loved petting he bunnies while Cami mainly like to chase the chickens around.  This place is usually busy and crowded so it was great to come so late in the evening and only have about 3 other souls other than our family around.

My kids really enjoyed sitting on the large tractors, especially Joshie!

After it was too dark to see the animals anymore we went back to our blankets and chairs and watched some of the neighbors fireworks until the big show started.

A couple of minutes before 10pm the twins and Sophie started to get cranky so I went and sat in the car with them, which they loved because they could just walk around and sit in the front seats. At 10 when the show started one firework had went off and Phoebe decided she was scared of them so Cory and Phoebe finished packing up and came and sat in the car with us.  It was kind of a dud show from what we could see with our inhibited view, but it was still fun to hang out and play with the family at the farm.
