Easter Outfits

Last Sunday we decided since Easter falls this year on General Conference weekend (aka no church) we would dawn on our new Easter cloths a week early.  I was super happy to see that I picked what was apparently the IN color of the season, when in reality I just looked in my fabric box for what scrap of fabric I had enough to make two little dresses out of and it happened to be purple.  The way Phoebe is siting expressionless in this picture, it reminds me of one of those formal somber wealthy family photos.
Here are the wee ones all matching for the holiday. I was nearly jumping up and down when I found a purple shirt and tie for Josh to match his sisters.  On a humorous side note someone at church actually told me she thought Cami looked "ridiculous & stupid" in her big flower hair bow.  I gave the lady a bit of  and didn't say anything in return because another lady was holding Cami in church and I don't think she recognized that it was my baby girl she was pointing and talking to me about. Oh well, I thought she looked stinkin' cute.
Here is uncle Davey posing Josh is a ridiculous pose.  Luckily Josh is secure enough in his manhood to go with the flow.

Easter Time Fun

Phoebe is finally old enough to get the concept of an easter egg hunt o it was really fub to have a neighborhood Easter party where each child got to go hunt out a dozen eggs for their own, as you can see it wasn't very difficult to find them all.
Every Easter the Fergy's all get together and make homemade Easter candy, this year however it was just decorating rice krispy bars which was really enjoyable because it was so much more kid friendly.  I couldn't really get Phoebe to do much decorating, she just mainly wanted to eat all the sprinkles right out from her bowl and show everyone her "cute dress."  I am surprised that Phoebs didn't even try the chocolate her favorite food group, but I guess it just coincides with her EXTRA EXTRA no mess phase (ex. we had MacDonald's on Sat and she had to wipe her hands clean after almost every fry.)

As you can see cousin Zack got into the chocolate enough for both Phoebe & Zack.  For some reason Cami had a grumpy face for most of the activity.  I was trying to get a picture of her furrowed brow and pouty lip, but this is as close as I got to a good picture of it.  Josh as always was his happy self especially after I gave him a treat to lick.

Sew Determined: March Edition

March's sewing endeavor took me to the edge of my sewing talents.  I chose a simple dress pattern with lots of picture helps for the girls dress patterns.  The first dress I made was Phoebe's (on the right) it went smoothly even though it has a zigzag stitch.  For some reason I was afraid to do this part, I think it was because I was nervous that if I changed any sets on my sewing machine I would never get it to work gain, but it turned out if was SUPER simple to go between stitches. On Cami's dress I think I was over confident in my sewing skills and I messed up both sleeves by sewing them upside down or backwards, etc... all I know that is I probably added 2 hrs on to this dress trying to pick out 9000 stitched I kept doing wrong.  This is luckily a VERY forgiving dress.
To get a bit more practice I decided to sew some spring dresses for our neighbor girls.  I was refreshing to sew these because they went so smoothly and I really started to get good on a more uniform zig zag stitch.  I cut and put together both the red dresses in 4 hrs, where the purple dresses took about 2x as long.
So look I not only did one sewing project, I did FOUR.
But wait that's not it!  For a bonus sewing project I made book covers from scratch.  One of Phoebe's Easter gifts is her first set of scriptures & case.  I know she is too young for them, but when I taught nursery there was a little boy who always brought in his scriptures and case every week and it was really cute.

Meet Phoebe "Basket Case" Ferguson

I live with a total basket case LITERALLY. For some reason she thinks this Easter basket is a hat.  She asks "Oh where's my hat?" Then picks up the basket and wears it on her head.  She is almost totally blind when she wears it so that means she walks and crashes into everything. As if she isn't a big enough klutz already when she can see.
I do love this little girl to see her smile makes me laugh.  She was having a fot on Monday because I was taking pics of the twins (5 month pics) and not her, so this is her 2 yr 5 month & 10 day picture.

This afternoon I was  dressing Cami and I heard Phoebe just a talking in the hall. This is was I found, Phoebe playing with Joshie.  A first in the big sister book; normally she gives the babies the invisible treatment. I love to see her becoming more of a big sister everyday.

5 Months Old

On Monday (Mar 22nd) the twiners turned 5 months old.  Yikes, they are growing so fast! Don't forget o weigh in on the poll if you haven't yet.
Here are a couple other cute pics from through out the month:
As for accomplishments in their fourth month.Cami learned to roll from her back to front, she has yet to roll the easier way (front to back). As for Josh, he is just too fat to roll his body any direction.

Happy St. Patty's Day

NOTE: There are SEVERAL new posts so be sure to continue to scroll down.

As you can see by the countdown, today was St. Patty's Day. We did several new things around the Fergy home to celebrate this day.
We started the morning off with a treasure hunt to the leprechauns gold. Phoebe was thrilled when she discovered that the gold was candy.  She shoved 3 of them in her mouth before we got it all picked up.
The tricky leprechauns also turned our milk and pancakes green. Side note, I must admit drinking green milk grossed me out a bit
For dinner we had a traditional Irish fare of Corned Beef and Cabbage.  My family always makes this for Paddy's Day, but it was my first time making it for Cory and it turned out great!
We had fun celebrating and it will be even more fun next year when Phoebe will be old enough to realize some more of the holiday celebrations.

Here Comes the Sun

This week has been the sneak peek of Spring to come.  In celebration of the 50 degree weather we have taken family walks around the neighborhood every evening.
The twins love taking walks in their new stroller.  As you can see, Cami prefers to kick her feet up on the bar and enjoy the ride.

Some of our Favorite Things: March Edition

In March we have discovered many new fun things to do in the Fergy home.  The first favorite thing is the Baby Seat & Toys; we finally pulled them out from the closet and the babies love sitting in it and playing with toys which they hold so much better than Phoebs ever did.
Here is many of Phoebs favorite things.  She found my future present stash and raided it.  This whole outfit were things she stole out of the stash.  She looked so cute & happy I didn't have the heart to take it away from her.
Our last favorite thing is bath crayons & markers.  Phoebs LOVES doodling on the side of the tub. She has me and her draw dozens of little pictures then wipes them clean and starts over. Upon receiving these markers her baths significantly lengthened towards the 2+ hour time frame.  When she finally gets out of the water it is usually because I have bribed her with a treat at lunch and her little hands and feet are complete prunes.

Even Cory & I have gotten enjoyment out of tub crayons; these were little drawings Cory did for me.  It always make my mornings better when I get in the shower and see a new drawing from him.

Note: the fish (sardines) pictures are in reference to Cloudy with and Chance of Meatballs, when the headline reads: "NEWS: Sardines are Really Gross." Well, that's what we think of our kids too, so now we call them all Sardines.

Food Food Glorious Food

I admit have been putting off feeding the twins plain rice cereal after the horrible experience it was to try and feed Phoebe rice cereal, but guess what??? These babies love eating and gobble up every bite.  Cami even yells when you go too slow.
Here are the after feeding pictures; you will note Josh barely has a scrap of food on him.  Cami, on the the other hand, can't seem to find her mouth 50% of the time.

Kye's Blessing

In the beginning of March was cousin Kye's blessing.  He was the last of the 5 cousins to be blessed so to commemorate all the wee ones being blessed/born so close together we dressed all 5 wee ones up in their blessing attire and took pictures.

You can tell be the expression on their faces how excited they were that we did this. All the cousins are sitting in age order beginning on the left with Jared, followed by Cami, Josh, Afton, & Kye.
