Phoebe's First Visit to the Dentist

This week was Phoebe's first visit to the dentist. I was a bit nervous for her because I wasn't quiet sure how she was going to react to all the dental exam. I tried to make the dentist seem like something that was going to be fun and exciting by reminding her and telling her that the dentist brushes her teeth, which is one of her FAVORITE things to do.  

Phoebe was so good at the dentist she sat like a princess, it didn't hurt that they let her watch Tangled during the appt. Phoebs did everything they asked her to do and more. She was in fact sooo good that they gave her extra prizes, an extra toothbrush and a ring, which is funny because I asked Phoebe earlier in the day if she knew what you did at the dentist and she answered, "Get married?"  Well she didn't quiet get married, but she did get to pick out a sparkle ring.

I had promised Phoebe earlier in the day that if she was a good girl at the dentist that she could have a princess doll when we got home, so here she is with her shiny new Aerial doll & dentist prize pack. Phoebe is now really EXTRA eager to brush & floss several times a day to get all the "sugar bugs" that the dentist told her about out of her teeth.

When You're Not Lookin'

Everyone always says you need to watch toddlers ALL the time or they will get into things...well, that saying goes double for our family.  

Josh demonstrated his tricky acrobatic skills one day during a tantrum of Cami's. He some how got himself stuck in this chair. We aren't sure how he got himself into this position without hurting himself because it took quiet bit of effort for figure out how to get him out of the chair bars.

Cami decided one day while I was grocery shopping that she was hungry so she grabbed one of the bananas I had in the cart and just started eating it. I had to the explain to the cashier a couple times that the banana was not pre- mangled by the store, but instead my daughter was eating the banana and so I was still going to pay for it. I also found upon arriving home some red haired little mouse pre-sampled one of the tomatoes I picked up too.

This picture also sums up why I avoid shopping with all the wee ones... there almost no stores with enough strap in seats for 3 kiddos, so one has to walk/wander off or one has to sit in the cart and then gets into things.

Bookstore Date Night

For March's Date night we finally got to do the Bookstore Date.  This is a date I saw on Love, Actually's blog over a year ago and wanted to do, but I had last year already all planned out so it had to wait until this year.  It was a fun date and the way we did it...totally free too!

The premise behind the date is you print off check lists that have you go around the bookstore and find different types of books to share with each other.

Here are a couple examples of our check list items. We were suppose to find a new recipe that you would like to try. Cory came up with seared duck while I chose bacon wrapped shrimp.

Some other results were, Cory would like to try horseback riding for a future date while I chose to have a cooking class together. Cory chose a book on Utah Parks and found a picture of Goblin Valley for a place he would like to visit while I chose a picture book on skylines & picked New York. We both found children's princess books to fulfill the requirement of Happily Ever After.  Finally, for the topic of self help books that apply to us Cory chose a book about turning common household items into your own workout gym and I chose a book with lots of worksheets in it about budgeting.

We opted to skip out on the fourth set of challenges and instead just returned home for some free ice cream and to watch shows we had already had saved in our Hulu queue. This was a pretty fun date which got us talking about lots of new topics & even learned something new about each other. We both thought it would be just as fun to make up a new list of challenges and repeat the date again next year. 

Celebrating Green Day the Fergy Way

In the Fergy home we get excited about St. Patty's day.  In preparation for the celebration that would take place later in the week, we all donned on our green outfits for  church.

On St. Patty's day morning all the kids joined us in the bathroom as they do every morning. Phoebe especially loves to sit on the counter as Cory & I get ready in the morning. She feels it's her duty to remind me about us about our deodorant and to get daddy's shaver ready for him.

As we all approached the stairs, however they kids were all REALLY excited to see a little leprechaun had visited us in the night and left a green trail leading to his treasure.

The wins didn't really care to see what treasure was at the end of the trail. For them the trail was the treasure. After Phoebe followed the trail we quickly had to pick it up because the twins were quickly eating the chocolate trail without removing any of the tinfoil even.

Everyone enjoyed their St. Patty's Irish cereal, how is it Irish?  Well, Phoebe's Marshmallow Mateys are supposed to be Lucky Charms, but those were too expensive, Cami's Tootie Fruities cereal represents the Leprechaun's rainbow and Josh's Golden Puffs cereal is the Leprechaun "Gold".  The Leprechauns also dyed our milk green which Phoebe throughly enjoyed while drinking through her new shamrock straws & watching our new movie Mega Mind.

As I have mentioned in previous posts the kids aren't sleeping too well in their new beds so they are constantly tired during the day.  Cami put her new bag of cereal to use doubling it as a pillow.  We eventually had to put her cereal away because she kept dragging the bag around the house using it as a pillow and crushing it all up.

For dinner we enjoyed our traditional Irish fare of corned beef and cabbage, something Cory looks forward to all year long.  This year I added Irish Soda bread to the meal which turned out very yummy. Next year Cory has randomly requested turnips to also be added to the meal because he thinks it is fitting of the Irish dinner, however neither of us has ever tasted a turnip and we have no clue if we like them or not.

For dessert we enjoyed the green leprechaun trail...maybe next year I will actually get around to making one of he many, MANY yummy looking Green St. Patty's Day desserts I have saved in bookmarks.

I'm So Very Very Tired

It has now been 1 1/2 weeks since the big room change and I am sorry to say the sleeping situation is not improving at all.  Phoebe's new most common said phrase unfortunately is, "Mom I'm so very, very tired." You may feel sorry for her, but in fact she is the problem because she just wants to play and not sleep, which causes 3 kiddos to be very tired all the time.  Here poor Josh is sleeping in his lunch chair.

Side note: I did not feed him 1/2 box of Trix for lunch. I gave him cheese and pretzels and Phoebe poured all the Trix on his tray while he was asleep because I guess she thought it was funny???

How do you Deal with a Problem like Camille?

Cami is one of my most cuddly sweet babes, but she is also one of my MOST troubling ones too.

Cami is our resident busy body & climber.  She gets into everything and fast if you are not watching such as the pantry for some Trix and Phoebe's water colors.

For the past two days she has been learning to adjust to her new room setup and it has been disastrous. She wanders for hours and never seems to just lay down and sleep. Josh and Phoebe I believe would coexist with little to no problems if miss Camille would LEAVE them alone & sleep! The first night Phoebe, who refuses to sleep on her bunk bed so she made a bean bag her bed & Josh were quietly laying down to sleep after 1 hour; Cami on the other hand, took 2 hours and a couple check-in after attempting unsuccessfully to try & climb the ladder. Last night it took Cory going to lay with her to get her to stop wandering after 2+hrs.  Today after 21/2 hrs into nap time Cami still wandering and crying now because she is just extremely exhausted while Josh ell finally sleep through it all and Phoebe eventually moved herself to her old room and is sleeping on the baby changing pad on the floor.

Any ideas on how to get this girl to realize how tired she really is and sleep???

Fergy Wee Ones Room Make Over

On Saturday we finally did the dreaded deed, move all the kids into one room!  I have been dreading this task mainly because I knew it would be a tough transition for the kiddos, but as Sophie will be here in less than 2 mos we had to do the deed.  To document the change we took before shots of the two rooms.  Phoebes cute simple polka dot room is above followed by the twins room.

We unfortunately received lots of help with the room change. The kiddos wanted to watch daddy every step of the way. Josh unfortunately wanted to be INVOLVED in every step so he got to watch the process from his crib.  Cami stuck to helping daddy locate the screwdriver and pre-slobber all the large bolts, both very helpful tasks.

After several hours & the kids naps the finished product was finally ready for the big reveal.

The kids LOVE their new room, however night & nap times have turned into a nightmare I am hoping in a week or so things will calm down and fall back into a normal routine.

On one last side note, we have discovered a design error on our part; the bed can easily be used to climb on to the dresser, which was were we found Josh yesterday morning taking a nap. We have since fixed the problem by blocking off the opening with a blanket wall.

House Party Philly Cremes

Once again I was lucky enough to be chosen to host another House Party.  This time it was for Philly Cooking Cremes.  As a hostess I received a great new cooking pan & oven mitt and all the guests received coupons, magnets, cookbooks, notepads & cooking spoons.

Here are a few shots of the 3 dishes (Creamy Chicken Broccoli, Creamy Shrimp Tacos, & Stroganoff- my fav!) I made withe flavored cooking cremes.  I forgot to take pics until we were all done eating so sorry not the best photos, but all the dishes were WAY good! I also had fun St. Patty themed door prizes for a few lucky guests, okay well all the couples got a prize except for mom because I only had 5 prizes and 6 couples ended out coming.  Sorry mom- the only loser of the night, but at least you got a full belly of goodies.

It wasn't as large of a turn out as I had hoped, but we all had fun and I am really thankful for all who did make it, we all had a fun night!
