Our Mini Oregon Jont

In he beginning of November our little family took a mini 2 day vacation to Ontario, Oregon to pick up my parents old car to use, a HUGE blessing for our wee one car family. On the way we stopped in Boise and saw the temple open house. It was a beautiful day and we all really enjoyed the stop. I think this has to be one of the most beautiful temples I've seen yet. I know I say that about all of them, but the Boise one is a wee different with all their stain glass. Even the Celestial room has a stain glass ceiling in it.
Mormon Temple
The kids were a little stir crazy from the long  car ride to be super reverent, but luckily we had some of the best tour guides in Boise who REALLY helped up real the twiners in! When all was said and done they even told us how much they loved meeting our family and that we totally made their whole day. I am not sure if we could ever live there apparently Boise is filled with crazies if we were the crazy irreverent family that made their day. As a last favor our guides took our family pics out by the fountain and I think they turned out great!

After the temple we stopped at a little drive-in in Boise we saw on Drive-ins Diners and Dives. It was an old fashion drive in that had a real Am.Certified Chef working in the kitchen. I had the Prime Rib which he was famous for and Cory had Salmon cakes. The kiddos had the best homemade mac and cheese I think I have ever had! Definitely worth the stop at the Westside Drive-in if you are ever in Boise.
After lunch we drove the rest of he way to Ontario to meet my parents and stay for the night, which the kiddos absolutely LOVED!!! Phoebe even got to sleep with grandma in their room which totally made her day, although she said she couldn't sleep too well because of all of Grandpa's snoring.

My kiddos get so thrilled to see Grandma/pa Potts & the dogs and unfortunately, this trip was far too short for them and when it was time to say goodbye at breakfast poor Phoebe completely melted in one of the saddest  tear fests I have ever seen, it actually broke my heart for her and I started to tear up.
Even though it ended on a really sad not for the kids we had tons of fun on our mini vacation and Cory & I are over the moon thrilled to have a second car to use. THANKS A TON MOM & DAD!

Fergy Family Turkey Fun

The Fergy's have a tradition to make a thankful Turkey ever year with all the kiddos hands as feathers. In our mini family, however, we do not write what we are thankful for and put it in the jar, but instead I have about 40+ strips of paper and we pull out 1-2 everyday and do the little activity on it showing what we are thankful for. We have found this method works a bit better with our small not talking wee ones.
The kids really didn't care much for the turkey making its self Cami mainly just wanted to cut with the sisscors and Phoebe was into tracing hands the strange antler looking things on the side were her attempt at Sophie's hands.
Phoebe comes home every year from Preschool with Pilgrim and Indian head dresses on and I can't help but take pics of this cutie all dresses up for the season!

Watch out World

For the kiddos birthdays this year Grandma/pa Potts bought all the week ones their own bikes, which Phoebe and Josh have been thrilled about.  Cami now as much, I don't really have any pics of her because she doesn't stay on it any longer than 30 seconds at a time.
Phoebe has improved greatly from this video, but here is how she started:

All Hallows Eve 2012

Laely Cory has been into making fun shaped pancakes for the kids so they are more willing to eat them and on Halloween he ventured into spiderweb pancakes, which look quite awesome to me.
After story time at aunt Julie'e we got dressed up to go get free cupcakes at Sweet Tooth Fairy, although they look a bit gory they tasted like strawberry shortcake goodness!
I kinds had poor timing because I feed the kiddos pure sugar and then laid them down for a nap, oh well After the wee nap from the kiddos it was time for the ward trunk-or-treat, one of our most favorite activities of the year!
After about 1/2 of the cars the kiddos treat bags were so large they wanted to just quit an sit own in he middle of the parking lot and begin eating, but I am he mean-o mom who drug them back up to top off their bags of candy with he rest of the cars. They all complained they were tired after the micro amount of walking we did o they finished out the activity eating doughnut in he trunk while we handed out the rest of our candy.

When we got home we indulged in our one a year Chinese takeout feast, we do love this tradition so and count down to it months in advance. All the kiddos seemed to love it or so we thought, Sophie looked like she was gobbling it all up and then we noticed her secret, she was just stashing it all under her bum and not in her tummy.
Once again the amount of trick or treaters was a bi sparse with a total of 9 kids, but that I suppose will all change with next years when we live in our more child abundant neighborhood.

Singing a Spooky Tune

The day before Halloween, Phoebe had her preschool program where all the parents got to come and hear all the kiddos singing their spooky Halloween songs, this year Phoebe did much more singing and actions and even has sang a few of them at home to us which is a vast change from last year!
Here is a short video of one of her many songs:
At the end all the kids got to pic their own pumpkins out and Phoebe was so proud of her pumpkin she has since slept with it every night on her night stand. She also got a little goody treat from Grandma Fergy for doing such a good job in her program.
