Rockin' Around the Fergy Tree

On Christmas Day in the Fergy Home all was quiet except for the warm crackling fire on our TV, thanks to Netflix who actually has a 1 hr video of a wood burning fireplace. Santa came in the night and left u all goodies and once again thanks to extended family we have tons-o-goodies for us all under the tree. Santa brought Phoebe her "marrying Rapunzel", Cami her Tinkerbell, Sophie a baby Ariel, & Josh a robot karaoke machine. The three older kiddos also got duck hats which you'll see the LOVED!
Before we all open our goodies we have a few rules: 1. we have to gather in mom & dad's room where we talk about the real Christmas story a bit and then have a special prayer 2. we have to take a family pic on the stairs a they come down.
Our kiddos were funny to see open all their gifts. Sophie, you can see could care less about it all. Cami was THRILLED about everything. Josh wanted to play with everything a he opened it and was difficult to push to the next item & Phoebe was our speed unwrapper, but was quickly ad when hers were all down and everyone still had some left, so we let her help Sophie open her.
Note: the excitement Cami had about her panties, we got her fashion show of them during dinner, since no holiday meal would be complete with out our own underwear runway modeling from Cami (we had one for our Fergy Family Thanksgiving too). Also, Josh did not open any other gift until he sat there and slowly ate everyone of those Pez
Josh got a bubble mower from his uncle Robert, but the kids didn't really know what it was and since we were packing up to move the next day we never opened the box for him, so the kids just used it as a bed/chair all day and were content. It will just be an exciting gift for him come April.
On Christmas eve this year it snowed quite a bit and since we didn't have to go anywhere we just enjoyed our cinnamon rolls I made, watched Brave over and over and stayed in our pjs for a good chunk of the day.
For dinner this year we changed things up a bit and had Roast Beast, way yummier than ham in my opinion & I believe this will be what I do from now on, since I LOVED LOVED LOVED this year.  It was all super laid back and relaxed. I didn't cook all day since it was all make a head or crock pot cooked. After dinner we were a little missing the light shows we normally see at Christmas Utah, but this year it closed down so instead we looked up some other items to go view, so we piled in the car with cookies and headed out. We, unfortunately, forgot to bring the map and directions so instead we just drove around different areas just looking at lights.  Phoebe was so tired she passed out on the car and in spite of my many efforts to wake her she missed the whole thing.
After the lights we came home picked up and watched one lat Christmas show before putting the kiddos to bed. Miss Sophie, however, REFUSED to sleep so she came and hung out with daddy while he played his new NCAA football game until 10pm.

Christmas was very happy & wonderful in our family this year and no it's not something I just always say, since I clearly remember Christmas was not very merry the year before, but this year truly was joyful & peaceful. I am pretty sure it was due to both Cory and I trying so much to take it easier this year with simpler meals to make and no yelling. We also just wanted the kiddos to have just a couple last happy days before their little worlds got flipped upside down the next day with our moving adventures.
