The Living Planet Aquarium

Last Monday we took a trip to The Living Planet Aquarium for 1/2 price night.  It is not a large place, in fact it is inside an old Albertsons grocery store, but it is big enough for wee ones. The aquarium recently was remodeled and added a South American exhibit where they now have new fish and penguins which phoebe LOVED.  She ran back and forth in front of the take following these zippy little guys as they swam around.

As part of the aquarium they have a whole exhibit on Utah wildlife, which include brine shrimp, water bugs, water skippers, and this frog which sat in this swamp like pool which we finally had to drag Phoebe away from after 20+ minutes.

These trout were also in the Utah exhibit.  Cory was just explaining to Phoebe that these little guys would be his delicious dinner.  

As always the twiners were great troops as they were pushed around in their luxury stroller even though I didn't let them to touch any of the neat starfish, manta rays, or anemones.

6 & 30 Month Checkups

I can't believe these wee ones are 6 months already.  

6 Month Stats:

Josh:

Weight: 17.15 lbs (60% for boys)

Height: 27 in (75% for boys)

Cami:

Weight: 15.8 lbs (40% for girls)

Height: 26.5 in (95% for girls)

Accomplishment for the twins have made last month:

Cami learned to roll from her front to back...yeah she can roll in both directions.

At 5 months Josh started sleeping through the night, he has since digressed on a few occasions, but still ahead of his sister.

Cami learned to hold her own bottle.

We are now on to baby food, neither of which love it as you can see with the look on their faces.  They prefer their rice & oatmeal cereal.

30 month (2 1/2 yrs) Stats:
Phoebe

Weight: 19.15lbs (Not on charts)- You can map it yourself, we laughed at how low she was.

Phoebe is feeding her bear while I feed a twin. We love that she is starting to mimic us more and becoming a great "big" sister.

Grandma+pa Potts Come to Play

Last week Granma+pa Potts & doggies (their dogs are two of Phoebes most favorite of God's creations) made their annual homage to our casa to visit the wee grand kiddos and just in the nick of time! While mom and dad were on their way driving from Oregon I had to call and say hurry up and come help us, we're having water spraying everywhere in the kitchen.  Our kitchen faucet broke and so water dripped down in the cabinets and sprayed way up all over the kitchen. Little to say our visit started with Cory learning some basic plumping as my dad taught him how replace our kitchen faucet; we now have a new fancy kitchen facet.  The rest of the visit we were able to enjoy our perfect weather by playing outside.

We decided to take advantage of the 75 degree weather by going to Wheeler Farm; this has been on our to do list for many months now.  Phoebe enjoyed walking all over the farms pointing out all the different animals.  I think the pigs were one of her favorites.

While Phoebs ran over the whole farm the twins rode in style. We were stopped many times as total strangers looked and laughed at the twiners in their cool shades.

One day when grandma+pa Potts were visiting Daddy and Josh were twiners.  We didn't do this on purpose we bought them the same shirt from he same store on two different shopping trips. It didn't even dawn on me that I had done this until daddy came down for the day and I thought, "Oh Josh is wearing a shirt like that today." Daddy made me take two picks because of Josh's immodesty in the first one. The original picture made me laugh though; especially when you see Josh's sour face in the next picture when Daddy put down his shirt, so I posted both of them.

On the last night we enjoyed some ice cream for desert, which has never been one of Phoebs favorite, but she is an ice cream believer now.  Ever since that night, when I get Phoebs in the morning and ask her what she dreamt about she always tells me, "Ice cream;" she has the best dreams!

As a little gift to the kiddos grandma+pa Potts bought this miniature bench; as you can see by Phoebs expression she was really excited to have it.

After the short visit we were really sad to see grandma+pa leave, but the kids had had such a good time that no one really wanted to take their normal naps which made for really exhausted kiddos for the next couple of days.

Miscellaneous Fergy Sightings

Princess Phoebs

I don't know if I have ever mentioned how much Phoebs LOVES dressing up!  Don't believe me, I have pictures from 3 different days to prove it.  The first was just a normal playing at home day, note she has 2 bracelets, 2 purses, a choker, earrings, and an exotic pet...Rodeo Drive here we come.

The second is when daddy told Phoebs if she got ready she could go with him to the church to do reimbursements. She reminds me of the women in the BofM with all her fine jewlery.

The third is from today when she told me she needed to go potty.  I said okay let's go, but before we could go up stairs she had to grab a princess crown, bracelet, earrings, and princess wand.  Little to say, she no longer had to go potty by the time we actually made it to her potty.

Dino Land

A couple weeks ago Cory had a huge project to get out so for almost 2 straight weeks Cory received no more than a couple hr of sleep a night (usually from 4-6 am).  Little to say, by the end he was was exhausted so I made him take a day off and sleep in and play with his family.  For the playing part we went to Dino Land in the mall.  We had wanted to go to wheeler farm but it was too cold outside.  So instead Phoebes discovered she now loves this little play land.  While in the mall they had a little train that kids can ride, but we are too cheap to spend 12 dollars on 5 minutes of happiness so instead we let her ride the escalators up and down.  I know we are a little ghetto, but she was still enjoyed and it was FREE.

Like Father Like Son

I came in the house this weekend to see this.  Daddy fast asleep with little brother...Oh no, not another one who can sleep anytime anyplace.

It Happens

This is what sometimes happens when you have 2 wee ones of different genders.  Josh wet out at grandmas, but I only had one spare outfit in the diaper bag.  This is not only VERY girly, but a newborn size (he currently wears 6-9 mos).  These were not suppose to be capris. Daddy says that poor Josh is going to need some professional help to get over humiliations like this one. 

Wrappin' up Easter Celebrations

This year for Easter we tried to add a few more family traditions that would make Easter a little bit more special in the Fergy home.  The first new tradition were the Spiritual Easter Eggs. We opened one egg per day for 12 days before Easter.  Each egg had a little scripture and object to exemplify the scripture.  This was one tradition Phoebe was sad to see end.  She loved opening the eggs every day. 

The other new tradition was to plant magical beans the night before Easter.  These were very special beans that ONLY grow one night of the year and that is the night before Easter. Phoebe had fun burying the beans in the sand right after I took this picture.

Look what Phoebe's magical beans grew...Tootsie Pops! This was probably her very favorite Easter surprise. We will definitely continue to plant magical beans every year and who knows what they will grow in Easters to come.

On Easter morning I made a special meal of breakfast casserole, bananas, marionberry muffins & OJ.  For some reason the casserole was a bit runny & the muffins were a bit bland, but luckily I don't feed picky eaters (Phoebe doesn't eat anything so she doesn't count as picky, at least those people still eat a little.)

For Easter dinner we went to Grandma/pa Fergy's and had a wonderful meal surrounded by total chaos of children running & yelling and crowded adults trying to eat while wee ones are on their laps, I loved it!

The medico girls modeling their new dress ups. Phoebe was so jealous and sad that she didn't have a dress up that Grandma raided Aunt Miggie's closet for dress ups Phoebe could wear.

The weekend after Easter we finally got around to doing the Easter Egg hunt at Grandma/pa Fergy's.  A week late, but the kids didn't care and that just meant that we got the candy really cheap on the after Easter sales.  We did things a bit differently this year in that each person didn't have a special egg or color to look for each person just found 12 eggs of any color or design.  I think it worked better this way.  While the moms were stuffing the eggs the kids were out with dads decorating egg cartons.  

Uncle Davy helped Phoebs find eggs while I took pics and Cory held both of the twiners.  Unfortunately, I din't get pics of them because my batteries died in my camera, but trust me they both made sure to look cute while finding their dozen eggs each.

I think this was by far my favorite Easter in many, many years.

Easter Outfits

Last Sunday we decided since Easter falls this year on General Conference weekend (aka no church) we would dawn on our new Easter cloths a week early.  I was super happy to see that I picked what was apparently the IN color of the season, when in reality I just looked in my fabric box for what scrap of fabric I had enough to make two little dresses out of and it happened to be purple.  The way Phoebe is siting expressionless in this picture, it reminds me of one of those formal somber wealthy family photos.

Here are the wee ones all matching for the holiday. I was nearly jumping up and down when I found a purple shirt and tie for Josh to match his sisters.  On a humorous side note someone at church actually told me she thought Cami looked "ridiculous & stupid" in her big flower hair bow.  I gave the lady a bit of  and didn't say anything in return because another lady was holding Cami in church and I don't think she recognized that it was my baby girl she was pointing and talking to me about. Oh well, I thought she looked stinkin' cute.

Easter Time Fun

Phoebe is finally old enough to get the concept of an easter egg hunt o it was really fub to have a neighborhood Easter party where each child got to go hunt out a dozen eggs for their own, as you can see it wasn't very difficult to find them all.

Every Easter the Fergy's all get together and make homemade Easter candy, this year however it was just decorating rice krispy bars which was really enjoyable because it was so much more kid friendly.  I couldn't really get Phoebe to do much decorating, she just mainly wanted to eat all the sprinkles right out from her bowl and show everyone her "cute dress."  I am surprised that Phoebs didn't even try the chocolate her favorite food group, but I guess it just coincides with her EXTRA EXTRA no mess phase (ex. we had MacDonald's on Sat and she had to wipe her hands clean after almost every fry.)

 

As you can see cousin Zack got into the chocolate enough for both Phoebe & Zack.  For some reason Cami had a grumpy face for most of the activity.  I was trying to get a picture of her furrowed brow and pouty lip, but this is as close as I got to a good picture of it.  Josh as always was his happy self especially after I gave him a treat to lick.
