St. George Getaway

A couple weeks ago the Fergy Family took our annual vacation with Grandma & pa Potts. This year we choose to spend a week in St. George, someplace that neither of our families had ever really been to before & inspite of how thrilled Cami appears to be we were all looking forward to fun family trip.

Most of the time was just spent relaxing, playing & shopping; my kind of vacation. One day however we all ventured out in Grandpa Potts' motor home to visit Zions for the day. It was the most perfect day with the temp about 75.

The kids had fun looking at the beautiful canyon from the fun shuttle bus, where they didn't have to be strapped down. At one point we got out and took on of the easiest strolls offered in th park. It was only suppose to take 1 hr in and back, but at our slow pace it took multiple hrs. We had to stop and admire every deer and squirrel on the path and hear several times from Phoebe how squirrel will bite your finger. Zions had several posters around telling how we should not feed the wild life and how a squirrels attacked some persons hand and they had to get 13 stitches.

 

 

Phoebe LOVED spending so much time with Grandma & pa Potts. She talks everyday about how she wants to go to grandpa Potts house and swim and play with the doggies.

All along the trail everyone had hiking sticks so towards the end Phoebe decided she needed one so she she picked up her massive twig and hiked with it. Unfortunately,  it got lost when I threw it out of the window of the shuttle one the way back down the canyon, she was a bit too scary for my likings with that hiking twig.

  

One the way home the tree kiddos had so much fun laughing and playing tug o war with Phoebe's beloved feather boa. On a side note, when we left St. George there were tons of pink feathers all over the condo so I picked them up into one giant pile for the garbage so the house keeping staff wouldn't wonder what kind of freaky things we were into with pink feathers everywhere.

On one of the last days of our vacation we celebrated the twins first birthday. As is appent in the pictures the twins were super excited about it. We started our celebrations with Birthday Fruit Loops, which they love then Phoebe went over and showed them how to open all their presents.

 

After presents and naps the twins got all dolled up in their birthday outfits and played with all their cute new toys. For dinner we had yummy Pizza Hut and then we ate the Birthday cake that Phoebe and grandma had made earlier in the day.

I promise the twins did had fun on their birthday despite of how they always appear in all of the pics. After we finished making a mess with the birthday cake the twiners donned on their new skeleton glow in the dark pjs and they were ready for bed. These pjs also doubled for their Halloween costumes later.

The next day we packed up and headed home. It had been a crazy week and he kids worn out & ready to finally sleep in their own beds again as was I.

We had a great trip though and I loved just spending time kicking back with no real scheauls to keep. Thanks for the great time Grandpa&ma Potts & we can't wait to see ya gain in early May!!!

Shutterfly to the Rescue AGAIN!

Shutterfly is one company I don't mind doing a promo for because they really are a great company.  They have great gifts at awesome deals and as a reward for their customers they even offer free items every once and a while. I have made several photo books with them and in fact next week I am really excited to be hosting a Shutterfly House Party! In the past I used Shutterfly to make the twins birth announcements & let me tell ya it's is hard to find twin photo birth announcements, but luckily Shutterfly had tons of options! More recently I made the twins first birthday invitations with the help of Shutterfly & they turned out WAY cute!I am excited to do my holiday cards this year because I know no matter how my family photo turns out, crazy or traditional and whether I choose to have one group shot or 5 individual photos Shutterfly has 100s of cute holiday designs to choose from.

I think this is a beautiful card because it is a modern look on a traditional style. This card just feels like Christmas to me.

I also love this cute card! It is one that looks great with a color photo and let's face it I don't often do black & white pictures, however I doubt I would ever get all 3 of my wee ones to pose so nicely and while trying to be sure to put them on the left side of the shot.

Finally, I really like this card because I could take a color picture and I don't even have to worry about getting all the kids over to one side of the picture.  This is Chirtsmasy looking without being the norm & lets's face it, we all want our cards fun and unique.

Overall, I really like Shutterfly because I take my own pictures most of the time and I am no professional, but with all the tools and cute back grounds Shutterfly have to offer I can make any of my pics look great and keepsake worthy.

I Can't Believe She's 3!!!

I can't believe my little Phoebs is 3 already, well as of Oct 12th. We started her big day off, with of course opening her presents. It is fun to see her really get the concept of opening presents now and she either is really excited for the gift or she has no qualms about showing her unenthusiastic for certain gifts too, which was the case with a wooden puzzle I got her. She did love, however, the tutu & wings set along with her princess books and Princess Frog doll. At noon Grandma Fergy dropped by with a cute outfit for Phoebes and some spider decorated paper towels that were from her great aunt, after hearing how much Phoebe loves spiders right now. Funny thing, Phoebe  loved those spider paper towel as much as her new clothes, so much that when grandma told her to pose for a picture with her b-day gifts she only grabbed the paper towels and insisted on have her take a picture

 

Since Phoebe is really into fish I decided to make her little cake a fishy one. Along with it I gave her a self turning fish lamp I had as a little girl. She loved it SOO much she couldn't keep her little hands off of it, so it now lives up high.

After pizza and cake which she got to enjoy with one friend, Eva.  It was time to go visit the yucky spider down the street and then return home for bed.  She insisted on sleeping with Tiana and in fact that doll still rarely leaves her side.

It was fun while it lasted...

The Fergy Five ends 5.5.2011

My SpiderGirl!!!

Instead of Spiderman we have a Spidergirl.  Phoebe lately has fallen in love with spiders.  We have to watch the spider scene in Harry Potter 2 nearly daily and she has also taken a loving to Charlotte's Web recently too.  Her favorite, however s this giant spider that some neighbors of ours have put out in their front yard for Halloween.  This spider is about 18 in tall & about 2 foot long.  It lights up with purple lights and moves.  Almost every night we have to go visit the "kucky (yucky) spider" as Phoebe calls it.  Once there she will sit by it & pet, kiss, & hug it, and tell it goodnight. Of all things to love, my girl picks one Gods nastiest creations. 

Fergy Firsts

Last week I got to attend the ribbon cutting of Cory's very first building that was all his design and construction.  It was for the Utah Career Center aka PipeWorks.  This is a school for union tradesmen such as plumbers, hvac&r workers, welders, & pipefitters. This is where they get their accreditations and advancement certifications.

Below is a drawing of the building from above & pictures of the front of the building during the day & evening.

This room is located in the front of the building & can be seen from outside too.  It houses all the plumbing and mechanical units.  It is lit with changing LED lights for a fun effect but it is a practical learning classroom for the student who attend the school too.

For the "ribbon" cutting the Pipe Tradesmen constructed a copper pipping gate, which they then cute with pipe cutters and it became a gate you could walk through to enter the building.

Here are some details I just wanted to note. One was the board with all those who contributed to the building.  We would hope they thanked Cory personally as we have seen at other buildings, but no such luck. The second was this cool table that was made out of functional pipes and glass. The glass table has 2 panels of inch thick glass on it & each panel of glass weighs 200 lbs.

This last picture was just something I saw that I thought was funny.  Note this is a tent with NO walls & yet they posted an exit sign....really can't you just exit the entirely open space from just about anywhere?!?!

SIDE NOTE:
I forgot to say that we attended, at the end of September, the first birthday of Jared Michael, the first of the great Fergy Baby Rush of '09.  I can't believe all these little ones are now turning one!

Just a Little Hocus Pocus

Every year our family looks forward to getting to visit all the witches at Gardner Village.  Last year, however,  my family went without me since I was still on bed rest, so I was doubly looking forward to it this year plus  we got to tag along this year with Amber, cousins & grandma which was exciting for Phoebs because she doesn't get to see her cousins all that often.

 

Phoebe, my sicko daughter who LOVES spiders,  had to have her picture taken by a big spider which she then pretended to be afraid of.

The 3 weest ones also had fun looking around at everything even though the expression on Cami's face might suggest otherwise.

One of Phoebs' favorite cousins (she has many) is Zack. They are about 7 mos apart, Phoebe being the elder, but Zack has about 5+ inches & 20+ pounds on Phoebs, but still they play pretty cutely together.

The whole gang together, minus grandma who is taking the pictures, for one last shot. This picture turned out cutely despite of how difficult it actually was to get all the kids happy for, they kept trading treats and wandering around, which is why I finally had to hole Phoebs on my lap.  Oh well...the gang had a ton & now I can't wait until Dec so we can visit the elves when they arrive. 

11 Mos Old

 This month Josh learned to crawl on his knees although he still prefers his arm crawl.  Also, both of these wee ones now eat table food. Cami is a noodle fanatic and both absolutely LOVE fruit and eat it until you finally just cut them off.

September's Date Night

For September's date night the theme was romantic night at home. I adapted it to be candlelit Scrabble, Sparlinking Cider & Fresh fruit with delicious cream for dipping. I was really looking forward to this date forsome time, but unfortunaltly it fell a little short of my hopes for it.  Looking back it was obvious a bad omen for romance as I was trying to put the kids down for bed and finishing the dishes and Phoebe was standing on a chair at the sink helping me and all of a sudden my foot was wet.  That's right, we are potty training and it an potty accident.  That wasn't the worst of it either, when I looked down Josh was playing under the chiar, yep his sisiter just peed on his head.  He was not distrested as I was, however, he thought it was fun and was laughing and splashing in it.  So instead of getting kids in bed, two of them needed to be bathed and the floor mopped up.  After this fiasco, it was a bit of a stretch back to romantic date, but I eventally got everything as it should have been and decorated the livingroom, with candles and a Scrabble picnic.

 

We then began to play Scrabble, something Cory had never done. The game didn't go so well due to the lame set of letters we kept getting.  If you can see my board  halfway though the game you'll see U E I & 4 Os. 

Oh well, the food was delicious and I kicked Cory's can by almost 85 pts!  I think this date could still be a lot of fun as long as it is not forced from mopping up pee from 2 kids and the floor and you picked a more fun game.

Mid September's Glory

We finally took down the water colors for Phoebe and , man does she LOVE them!  She paints and paints, but with only he color black.  Yep that's my morbid child.  As is apparent she does not restrict herself to only painting on the page, she paints  fer face, chest and even teeth, oh well their, non-toxic right?!?!

Th twins continue to look for trouble when ever possible. Their new favorite thing is to race to the fridge when ever it's open and raid it.  I wasn't quick enough here and they climbed up in.

Last, but certainly not least is all the GREAT veggies we are now getting to pick out of our garden.  Just look at all the beautiful colors and varieties, I am sure this would cost the kitchen sink if I were to get it all from the store!  We love having a garden of our own, because we get to pick all this EVERY WEEK!!!
