Oregon Sweet Oregon

In the middle of June we made our annual homage trip back to the promise land, Oregon. This visit was a bit longer than normal because Cory went to Chicago for the first half of the trip, while I drove back to Oregon with my Mom. It was nice to relax and just "clown" around with the family for most of the 2 week trip. Phoebe loved to be at grandma+pa Potts' house with their teacup poodles. She spent her time divided between harassing the dogs and destroying the clean house. In the picture below Phoebe has a pair of glasses on that belonged to my great aunt Mimi; she loves these glasses and wears the sun glasses and bifocals all over the house still.
While we were in Oregon we also had the opportunity to catch a couple weddings of some old friends of ours. The first wedding we were able to attend was of a lady I have known since I was 2 weeks old. Debbie Snow was my first babysitter and her family was just an extension of ours growing up. The second wedding was for a friend from Eugene I have known for about 9 years now. I unfortunately did not get any pictures of their wedding, only this one I stole from Facebook. Their photographer, however, made really a wonderful slide show of their day. Go see it, they had a fun themed reception.
When not being lazy or attending Weddings Grandma+pa Potts had other fun activities planned such as riding the big carousel downtown. Phoebe got to ride it two times, once with grandma then grandpa.

While down by the carousel we got to play in the park and learned how to be an excellent dog walker.

Okay, so she started out a little rough with the whole dog walker part, who would have thought 4lb teacup poodles would be a bit too much for one to handle. On the up side she did improved quickly.

We also were able to spend one night at the coast in Depoe Bay. Our hotel room and the beach were absolutely beautiful, however, Phoebe felt differently as demonstrated below. She immediately had to clean the place up to her clean standards, which by looking at her room and how she leaves our living room most days I was not aware she had any of.

The beach was so beautiful! In my whole life I have only ever seen the Oregon Coast so clear once before. It reminded me of a more tropical location, except it was so windy and cold we all had to wear coats with hoods.
The second day we were at the coast it was overcast all day, but there was no wind and actually a bit of warmth around. Well, I guess you can't have it all at the Oregon coast.
While in Oregon we were able to make one trip to our beloved Alba Mater UofO. There we ran into he bookstore to stock up on more duck paraphernalia and books. Here Phoebe is acquainting herself with the books at the UofO bookstore, we are trying to train her young so she will not be so frazzled when she does this her freshman year of college.

For Father's Day Phoebe helped me make bird feeders out of pine cones, peanut butter & birdseed. Hers was apparently so delicious that it turned into a desert snack instead of a gift. I on the other hand, managed to curve my appetite for birdseed and pine cones and the gifts came out looking really cute, pictured below on the right. We have 3 of them hanging in our backyard now and are just waiting for the birdies to find them.
One of the best parts of the trip, however, was just getting to introduce Phoebe to all of her extended family members. In the picture below, Phoebe is sitting with Great Grandma Townsend and uncle Daryl. I know his appearance is a bit intimidating, but really he is a huge teddy bear that Phoebe loved, because he always snuck her snacks behind my back.

On the way home we stopped in and spent the night with Great Grandma Hogan. Phoebe loved her house because grandma had a sun room Phoebe could play in by herself and a random neighbors cat who let Phoebe pet her all she wanted. Phoebe LOVED that cat and chased it around giving him lots of pets and constantly meowing after it

The neighbor's cat, the true highlight of Phoebe's trip.

As a present on our trip, Grandpa Potts gave Phoebe a sand bucket, which she loved. She constantly put it on her head and walked around until she crashed into a nearby object. On the way home the sun was peaking around the visors to shine in her eyes and I thought it was very clever that she then grabbed her bucket and used it as her own sun visor. Ahhh, we love our "buckets", a new nickname we have now coined for Phoebs.
In the end my 2 weeks flew by too fast! I love visiting home and I just wish it was just a bit closer so we could visit more then once a year.

The Final Fetal Count Is...

Doesn't the old saying go, "Two Heads are Better than One"? Well, I am not quite sure if I fully agree with that yet, especially when they are both kicking and punching four separate quadrants of my torso at once, but the nurse said it was still a rare and special site to behold.

I know I have been a little delinquent in posting the final fetal count, so without further delay, we are happy to announce baby brother Joshua is sharing his cozy home with baby sister Camille Cossette; Cammie for short.

As I previously shared how Joshua David received his name (Joshua from my friend Joshua Alder and David from Cory's twin David), I will now fill you in a little bit on baby Cammie's name. Camille is a name I have always liked and it has been Cory's first pick of names since before our wee Phoebs was even born. I thought I would let Cory choose the name this time since I did last time; aren't I a nice wifey??? Cossette is my mothers maiden name and since it is a real name to begin with I thought it fit perfectly. Camille Cossette Ferguson is bit of a mature name for a wee one, but I am sure she will grow into it wonderfully one day.

10 Years Already!

As of yesterday, June 6th, it has officially been 10 years since I joined the LDS church. Back then I was only 19 and a freshman in college who still had an undeclared major. It was that year that I met some of my closet friends. Below is a picture of me and one of my best friends Joshua Alder (remember this name), aka "Joshie", who baptized me. My baptismal day, in many ways, was a total flop. To name a few of the mishaps we arrived at the church to find all but one locked clothes closets, which is why we are wearing awful too tight or too large 70's polyester whites, then later I was nearly drowned in the font and re emerged only to learn we had to redo it. At the end of the day, I guess, all that mattered was I was baptized and was very excited to be the newest member of the Eugene 8th Ward. Looking back I can't believe all the different opportunities that have opened up to me because of my membership in the church. I served a mission in Switzerland, been an institute instructor at the UofO, held numerous callings and even met my husband while being a stage manager for the tri-stake Single Ward's musical of The Garden.

It is with this, that we are VERY excited to announce that we will be having a little boy named Joshua David Ferguson, but I will most likely always call him Joshie.

As of yet, both of the twins are doing great, but only one was willing to cooperate for the last ultrasound. The other, as you can see in the picture below, did not want to roll off their side. This Thursday we have another ultrasound where we will hopefully know if we have 2 brothers or a brother and a sister for lil' Phoebs.

Memorial Day BBQ

As it has been almost 3 weeks since my last posting, I have some catching up to due, so make sure to scroll down through all 4 updates.
-
For our Memorial Day celebration we traveled to Grandma & pa Fergy's backyard for some good food and pool party fun. For lunch we enjoyed grilled hamburgers with ALL of fixings which we call "Training Table" style burgers because like the restaurant these burgers have almost any thing you could imagine to go on top of them and when you are done fixin' it up it is almost always too fat to fit in your mouth without a good squishing down. YUM YUM!!
Opposed to what the weather forecast predicted it was gorgeous and perfect for a pool party. Phoebs was in her heaven playin' in the pool and for almost 4 straight hours she did not want to be out of the pool for most than 10 mins at a time. Finally at 5pm when it was cooling down and she was shivering we made her change out of her swimming suite which sent her into complete hysterics and it took many of use together to calm her back down again.

Zack's Party

Last Saturday we celebrated cousin Zack's 1st Birthday. Zack is the youngest of the wee ones, he is 7 mos younger than Phoebe, but he is by far the largest of the wee ones with his linebacker style body build!! Below are a couple of picture of the big birthday boy and his party food and because it is funny we have contrasted them with Phoebe partaking her share of party refreshments.
-
Zack going at his cupcake with fierceness:

Phoebe the dainty bird picks at her cupcake with one finger as to stay clean:

Zack going at his ice cream before one molecule has time to melt:

Phoebe never even made it to the ice cream, she only wanted to lick all the frosting off all the delicious cupcakes.
-
When all was done enough is never enough so the plate must be licked clean as well:
These two babies together are humorous to compare due Phoebs being the oldest of the 3 wee ones by 7 mos and yet Zack has almost 10 lbs up on her and Phoebs is one of the most picky and daintest eaters I have have ever witness while Zack's eats style as if it was about to go out of style.

Zoo Days

Last Wednesday we had the opportunity to go to the Zoo with our cousins, Grandma & Aunt Meggie. This came at a perfect time because for the last 2 weeks we have been really trying hard to learn some basic animal sounds and signs.
This turtle, for some unknown reason, held Phoebe's attention for what seemed like eternity and I am not sure if we wouldn't still be standing there if it wasn't for the 9 thousand kids swarming us from various school field trips. As a consultation for leaving Phoebs' beloved turtle, Cory suggested we get Phoebe a box turtle, to which I informed him they live 50 years, so unless he would like to live the rest of his lifetime cleaning the tank, we will not be getting a box turtle for Phoebe.
This African skunk (below) amused our wee one with his continuous running back and forth. After only a few laps of his antics our wee one decided it looked fun and began pacing with him back and forth as well.

These bronze tigers are the closest Phoebe got to seeing the real thing, due to animal lunch times and her own impatience for the wildlife's noncompliance of up close observation.

We were hoping to see lions at the zoo because that is Phoebe's favorite animal sound to make. Whenever you ask her what a lion says she is usually eager to reply with a roar.

After about 3 hours at the zoo we were all tuckered out, especially the two wee ones, Phoebe & Lily. Lily was scared to leave her stroller and I believe became board because she couldn't see all the animals from her reclined position and Phoebe refused to sit in her stroller, so we either held her or she walked along with us. Eventually, Phoebs found this foot guard and made it into a bench, it is only about 6" off the ground, but it was perfect for her short legs. When all the animals had thoroughly been peered at, we loaded up and headed home. This picture was taken after only being in the car for a couple of blocks of the car ride home.

Summer Fun, Havin' Me a Blast

Summer is finally here and we couldn't be more thrilled about it. We take every opportunity to go outside and really become unhinged when we are made to go in again. Mother's Day weekend is always an exciting time around the ole Fergy Family residence because it means it is time to plant our garden and flower beds.
This year in hopes of keeping our dirt lovin' girl out of the garden and flowers we got her a sand box. Since we don't have money or space for a real sand box Phoebe plays in an over sized Rubbermaid Storage container, a bit ghetto I know...oh well, she loves it all the same.

In our ward, we have a playgroup that meets every Wednesday and now that it's summer we usually meet at a park and play. Phoebe absolutely loves park days and splits her playtime between the swings or the bottom of the slide, as demonstrated below. She is just starting to climb on the big toys which make me very nervous because many of them have higher open platforms which she has no fear of.
Finally, but definitely not least, we got a small pool for Phoebe in our backyard, which is where she would live if we gave her the opportunity. Our little fish girl loves to splash around, blow bubbles and listen to normal world sounds from under the water. It is my goal to get this wee one swimming lessons soon because she has no problem with putting her face flat down in the water to explore and play around.
