Service Opportunities

After listening to President Monson's talk about service, during General Conf., our family took turns giving service to one another. Cory started by doing a double service. First Phoebe got her daily dose of painted sparkle nails and second he volunteered to do it so I didn't have to painfully get down on the bathroom floor.
For Phoebe's service opportunity, she found some lotion in my drawer and rubbed it on my feet which were hanging off the bed.

For my service opportunity I have not yet forcibly tried to induce labor on the couple of fatties that are currently and severely invading my space. If you ask me that is the greatest gift I can give, especially when you consider the fact that I am only 60 in tall and the fatties have now made me 57in around. That's right, if I grow only 3 more inches, I will be a square.
All this service around the house was so tiring for both Phoebe and daddy that it had to be immediately followed up with some rest time.

The Waiting Game

Here we are in wk 35 of the twiners incubation time and wk 6 of bed rest. At this point we are as ready as possible and are just playing the waiting game. Yesterday's Drs. apt yielded a wee bit of good news, however, I am measuring about 44 cm prego (40cm is a normal for one full term baby) and due to my short stature can not grow much more. Dr. Tanner predicted that we only have about 1 wk, 2 at the very most, to go.
Last weekend we finished the nursery and about 1 hr after finishing I began to have contractions. This got us all excited, but after an hour turned out to be fruitless. We found out at that Monday's apt it was most likely just due to Baby "B"- Joshie, doing a 180 to match his fully breech sister. Naughty babies!

As I have been playing countless hr of Freecell, Phoebe has been livin' it up with Grandma Fergy. She practices her big sister stroller pushing skills, which is you ask me are still terrifying.
Phoebe also practices her penmanship daily on the bathroom scale. Don't ask us why she likes this spot, It is either because think she just assumes it is a mini stool made for her, or she is very self conscious about her recent 1 lb weight gain.
After all the work that Phoebe does around Grandma's house, she normally comes home to crash for the afternoon. On some occasions, however, she & Grandma are so tired from canning, destroying & then cleaning up every room that mid morning naps are just a necessity.

As you can see, because we are all sitting around with so much anticipation it is just wearing us out.

Toys, Toys, Toys

As we are coming up on Phoebe's second birthday, we are looking to find a some new age appropriate toys for her. This task always proves to be more difficult than it sounds. Every time we buy something we thing she would really love, she never gives it two looks. We therefore have resorted to taking her to the store with us to see what she will play with. Her selections, however, always turn out to be totally odd, as is proof by the above pictures. She loved these strange balls and squid looking creatures and wanted to carry about 6 of them around with her. She was totally devastated when we did not buy them, but quickly got over it when we got in the car and I gave her a mint. I don't know what we are going to do when she is no longer is easily distracted with mints; we may have to breakdown and buy her some of the weird items she falls in love with.

Jared Michael: The First of Five Fergy Cousins

Bring it on! Fergy Clan baby athon '09!

Jared Michael Medico was the first of the 5 Fergy cousins to to be born, the rest are due to arrive within the next 2 1/2 mos. He arrive with a speedy birth on Monday Sept 28th at 7:28pm. He was one of the smaller Medico wee ones at 7lbs 12oz and 19 in.

Of course most of the fergy clan was there to welcome him to the family. Here is our wee one giving a sweet little kiss to the newest wee one. She is just trying to get in a little practice as she will have two of her own wee ones to be kissing sometime within the next 3 wks.

Bewitched with Horse Named George

Last week grandma and several of the aunts took the annual trip to see all the witches at Gardener Village. I sadly was not there due to my bed rest. I wanted to bend the rules for this one, but family told me I wasn't even invited, so I stayed in bed and was a big ball baby. It looks like everyone still managed to have fun however, even without me, the life of any party, there.
Here is a picture of all the cousins with a big ole witch with a spider broom. I am sure Phoebe especially loved her, because she really like both spiders and witches, no sarcasm! She is a strange child.
At Gardener Village they have a petting zoo and pony rides. We have never taken Phoebs on a pony ride before, but always wanted to, so grandma finally did. Here is Phoebe with George. I was told she loved this horse and didn't ever want to leave him. Even over a week later whenever Phoebe sees a horse she says, "Oh, George."
The Gardener Village witch hunt is a family tradition that I look forward to every year and hopefully if the twins don't come too late in Oct I will still be able to participate in it this year and I know our little Phoebs would love to go back and visit her beloved George.

That'll Do Clorice, That'll Do

After lots of gluing and pressing this ol' girl back together we finally had to part our ways. I owned Clorice for the last 5+ years and she has been a good car, in spite of how we cared for her. The poor girl hadn't had an oil change in 2 yrs and I had to add over 2 quarts to bring her back up to the running level & at the same time when I looked in the coolant container it was bone dry, and yet she still ran. We couldn't kill this one, she was a fighter and for that she will be missed. Even in the end when we anticipated a hard sell, Clorice came through again. I listed her at 10pm on KSL and by 10:30pm that same night we received 2 calls on her. At noon the next day 2 customers came to look at her and the first test driver bought her before the second even got to look. Once again she proved to be a no hassle kinda girl. We only hope she does as well for the younger 20 something yr old boy who bought her for $450 bucks as she was to us. Thanks for the good times Clorice!

The Princess Era Begins

I know most little girls go through a princess era where they want dress ups, sparkles & of course lots princess movies. Well this time has caught up with our wee bug through no help from us. Daddy tires of Cinderella, the Brandy & Whitney Huston version, & has hiding it & mommy doesn't like bugs to wear really nice dresses to play and get dirty in. This week however, we broke down and let our wee one wear the dress she throws a tantrum everyday to wear. Along with it she likes to carry a "purse", actually it's journal in the shape of a purse grandma got her in a happy meal, push her stroller with a baby in it tell us, & tell us "Bye, bye." I guess our little girly girl is just mimicking mommy, except I do not constantly swoosh my sparkly dress around and twirl like she does.

Labor Day Shenanigans

Okay, here are the photos to prove that I haven't been following bed rest 100%. Since last Thursday's Dr. apt., however, I have changed my tune. I have been down all but 4 hrs of the day and those hrs get broken up with long rests in between. With all this "relaxing" rest, you know what you get? A very sore hip! It is all for a good cause though, to keep the wee ones cookin' as long as possible. On a side note: Don't forget to weigh in on my new poll to the right!

Well, back to naughtier times at one of the last Bee's games of the year. The game was as exciting as watching baseball could possible get (not very), but it did have a good ending. The Bees were in the bottom of the ninth with 2 outs & one man on base and then as we were all wishing it would just end already.. a home run! We were all excited, but mainly because the game ended so the fireworks show would begin! We all loved the show and here are a few pics of it.

As for the rest of the labor day weekend we spent the time at Grandma/pa Fergy's House playin' and eating. We normally have a camp out in the backyard on that Sunday night, but no one including us was feeling up to it this year so we ate dinner, played a bit, then headed home and came back the next morning to enjoy delicious crepes. After breakfast it was playing and socializing time for the rest of the morning into the afternoon, until it was time naps; we all had a good nap. Afterwards it was time to enjoy another great BBQ before heading home for the night. Okay, so I did a craptacular job at attempting to be on bed rest, but it was still relaxing and I sat down most of the time, doesn't that count?

Too Fat For This Farm

I am a bit behind in posts so scroll down to view all 4 posts.

The Baby Farm:

Joshie (the photogenic one)

Well, the rumors are true, I am officially on bed rest now. The Dr. told me to expect it 6 wks from the end and here we are, a bit early, but more or less right as he said. My last appt showed that the twins are growing perfectly and are even above average in size for a single child, no less twins. This does, however, cause extra strain on me and I started to prematurely dilate. I now see my Dr. every week to watch for signs of early labor, but over all I still feel fine, just a bit bored. The largest change to be made now is how to take care of a busy toddler on bed rest...trick question, it's impossible so Grandma Fergy has very graciously volunteered to take Phoebe during the days. Every morning now, daddy drops Phoebs off for some hard labor canning, swimming and I am sure treat eating if I know Grandma Fergy and then Grandma brings her back at 2pm for her nap which lasts almost until Daddy comes home. I think it will be a doable and hopefully non so inconvenient arrangement for everyone in the upcoming next 6-8 wks.

Below are some more pics of Joshie; if you look close enough, you will just see a glimpse of a sweet little face that looks like both Phoebe & daddy.

Now that you've seen the fat ones in the farm, here is a picture of what they are making me look like at 30 wks pregnant. I am the fat farm! As I look at myself normally I know I am a bit bigger, but seeing pictures of myself always give me a surprising new view of my actual prego size.

One Last Getaway Before School Days

A week ago was the last opportunity to pack in all the last minute fun before wee ones headed back to school, so we we headed up to Amber's & celebrated with a pool party.

Last Swim Party of the Summer

There we had fun splashing in pools, sprinklers and even smashing water balloons. I even donned on my maternity suit/tent for a refreshing dip in the cool waters.

"Parkle" Nails

Last Sunday we had the chance to play with Katie while her parents went to the temple dedication. In this picture Phoebe's shows you her new favorite addiction, Sparkle Nails. Everyday Phoebe runs to our bathroom, sits in the dark and yells, "PARKLE, PARKLE" until we hear her and come in to give her, her daily dose of glitter nails. Here in this picture you can see I have even taught her to blow on hr own nails to dry them.

Fergy Family Cook Out

Last Sunday, due to the aforementioned Temple dedication, there was no church so the Fergy Family took the opportunity to gather together and have a dutch oven cook out up in the canyons. I have never had dutch oven before so this was a real treat. We had chicken and potatoes in the ovens while also enjoying other delicious treats brought. For the most part, the weather was wonderful, except for 5 minutes of torrential downpour, but that even dried quickly. Here are a couple of pics Cory took of the beautiful view we had from our table. Below thoes is a picture of the whole Fergy clan; Phoebe is in my arms, but unfortunately fat Zack is covering her up.
