November '13 Fegy Tibits

November flew by soo fast here is just some of our misc happenings. I finally refinished a back garage sale mirror I bought in Oregon in the summer & painted our study grey(although you can't really tell in this pic).
We finished off the last snip its of our Halloween candy that darn Halloween witch didn't steal. We had a tiny bit of snow fall which Phoebe made sure to take advantage of.
We visited the dentist and unfortunately Phoebe had her first sugar bug :( Sophie started in a new nursery class and so the leaders could keep track of who was who they labeled all the kiddos backs, which I found humorous and genius!
Phoebe won a quiet contest in her class (note her ribbon sticker)...wish she showed us some of that quiet around here. Josh got ready for church one morning in his superhero dress-ups we had to RUN quickly and redress him into something a lot less stylish, but a bit more church appropriate.
We fully enjoyed the last couple days of above freezing temps we had by lounging and playing outside!
Cami got to give a scripture in Primary and Josh gave his first ever talk in church! Unfortunately, Cami didn't pull out the step stool all the way so you barely even see her over the podium. Josh is so tiring that when we finally come home just after 4 Josh and Sophie usually just fall asleep where ever they manage to sit still for 2 seconds.
In the end of November we got a first taste of cold weather and finally broke out the cuddle warm clothes and have spent our time playing, lounging and cuddling ever since to stay warm.
I am trilled to finally have de junk-i-fide our toy room , it needed it BADLY along with a few other items that had been sitting in a DI pile in the garage since we moved into the house 7 months earlier.
Josh and Cami were invited to their cousin Afton's 4th Birthday party and were suppose to dress up like prince and princess ready for a ball, but instead Josh wanted to dress up like a classy pirate and Cami created her own princess style in all pink.
Cory and I enjoyed a date downtown with the Mormon Tabernacle Bell Chior. We both struggled to stay awake through the entirely of the concert.
The Fergy women threw Megan her first baby shower for their wee baby boy due in January. Our food theme were yumm-o breakfast items, it was all DELISH!
Since it has been cold we spend all day indoors which means LOTS of warm baths, on of my kiddos favs. One day I came out to Josh and Cami's red carpet creation from their bath downstairs to Josh's bedroom upstairs. When I see this pic I automatically think of my SIL comment that they look like stairs of death, which is what I thought too and quickly picked up all the towels before anyone tried to test the death-stairs  theory.
Even though it was a busy month we didn't have any shortage of snuggling going on, I love when I catch moments of my kiddos happily/voluntarily snuggling their siblings.

November Movie Fun

November was a bit busy around here and so we only had 2 movies madness times. One was actually just a date for Cory & I, we watched #42, the Jackie Robinson Movie and ate only food you find at a ball park.
The kiddos started a new tradition, the day before Thanksgiving they celebrated Thanksgiving Charley Brown style with toast, popcorn, pretzels, & candy. We didn't actually have jelly beans left so we substituted in old conversation hearts.
There aren't many movies, that celebrate Thanksgiving so we were a bit hard up for festive ideas, but just wait next month hopefully we will be loaded with fun movie madness ideas!

Celebrating Turkey Dayzz '13 Fergy Style

This was the fun year the twins finally got to make their own festive thanksgiving hats, every other year they just stole the one Phoebe made in school. One their hats it reads Cami is thankful for kitties, Jesus, mom & dad. Josh's hat reads that he is thankful for Jesus, family, & my home.
On Thanksgiving morning our whole family just hung out together in our pjs, thanks to my awesome day before food prep! In the morning I made the kids all watch the Macy's Thanksgiving day parade which they were all really against at first then upset when it finally ended.
For lunch we went to Grandma Fergy's for the big feast! Normally every other year we are the only family who comes, since my family is in Oregon, but this year the Medico's also were able to join us which is always fun to have a bigger gang. Everything always tastes delicious, but unfortunately this year Cory was sick and didn't get to try it all including one of my first ever cheesecakes, which turned out yumm-o and pretty good looking too!
After the feast we all sat together and went through the ads, one of my VERY favorite parts! Poor Sophie was so tired by that point she nearly feel out of her chair falling asleep so uncle Dave cuddled with her as fought going back to sleep.
When we got home I had a little bit until my mad shopping was to begin at 7pm so we enjoyed some more dessert!
That night I went shopping from 7-11, came home slept for a bit and went back out at 4:45, I made out pretty darn GREAT, in the shopping department. The day after Thanksgiving in our home is our family Thanksgiving, so we get all our own yummy leftovers. This year I made a 15 lb turkey and could stand to do a larger one next year! I learned 5 lbs of potatoes is WAAAY more than enough for our family and if you melt a cube of cream cheese in it, they turn out so creamy and leftover potatoes are still creaming and not lumpy.
This year once a week my kiddos filled out and colored a thankful sheet; this worked PERFECTLY for our family and the kids liked coloring the pg.
Josh (colored a lot, but mainly red): Eyes, Diggers, House, Trees, Christmas Trees, Cat in the Hat, Faces, Presents, Duckies, Jesus, Trees/Leaves, Ballerinas, Water, Dirt /Sand, Windows, Fans, Food, Flowers, Uncle Davie, & Pumpkins.

Cami (mainly scribbled, next to Phoebe's pics): Trains, Jesus, Our house, Friends, Sophie's poopy diapers (Sophie is potty trained, so ???), Crayons, Tongues, Hands, Food, Toys, Clothes, Tummies, Killer whales, Grandma, & Homework.

Phoebe (colored perfectly & stayed neatly in the lines): Crayons, House, Clothes, Beds, Jesus/ Heavenly Father, Duckies, Parents, Home, Thanksgiving, Flowers, Food, Trees, Ballerinas, Family, Gift of Tongues, Our Room, & Books.

Sophie (colored very little, next to Josh's all red ones): Jesus, diggers, & our home
I really enjoyed all our Thanksgivings this year, it was relaxing & I wish every year could be as this year.

Thankful Turkey Time '13

We always start the first Monday n November with having a lesson on gratitude and then make our annual Thankful Turkey. Even though we have good intentions to use it every year it usually becomes more of a decoration than a useful gratitude jar. This kids really love it, however, so we continue to make it every November.
This year all the kiddos were old enough to participate to it was even more fun and chaotic to make.
This year we fit our hand feathers on a pickle jar, but Our cute little turkey's hands are continuing to grow and I fear one year we may have to use a small drum to fit all the not so little turkey "finger" feathers.

Chinet House Party

In the beginning of November I was chosen to hose another house part this time for Chinet bake-ware.
For my party I chose to have a luncheon and serve some of my favorite holiday classic sides and Costco chicken.
We didn't nearly have the turnout that RSVP that they were coming so I am really grateful to all those who did come, because we had a TON of food!!
This was a pretty easy house party as all I had to do was cook food and not plan any other games or activities, not to mention it tasted delicious and thanks to Chinet's new toss and Go bake-ware clean up was a breeze!
